At the corner of Twiggs Street and Congress Street in Old Town San Diego, something unexpected is happening.
What was once just a corner has become a canvas.
La Esquinas is a small open-air gallery built around five murals by artist Memuco—each one telling a different story rooted in culture, history, and place. Together, they form The Mural Collection, a series inspired by the spirit of the land, the legacy of Mexican art, and the living energy of San Diego.
This is more than public art.
It’s a moment you walk into.
Visitors stop, take photos, look closer, and stay longer than they planned. What begins as a quick glance turns into something else—a connection, a memory, a story worth taking with you.
That’s where the collection extends beyond the wall.
Each mural lives on through a line of shirts, posters, and postcards—designed to carry the experience beyond the corner and into everyday life.
La Esquinas sits at the intersection of past and present, where Indigenous history, Mexican artistic tradition, and coastal California culture meet.
Five murals.
Five stories.
One historic corner.
